Additional Information
K6VIS is a high level full stack DSTAR system with Dual microwave internet links; at 13.5 MBPS Primary voice, and 150MBPS backup/access point backhaul. The equipment is at a elevation of 7,500 feet located on Park Ridge repeater facility above Grant Grove in the Kings Canyon National Park. Local internet access available within the Park areas on 2.4 GHZ CH. 2. The ID1 Dataport is capable of providing 80-105 KBPS up/dwn data up to 100 miles from Park Ridge LOS using 1 watt from the ID1 and a good gain mobile or base antenna. A 5.75 GHZ and 5.725 GHz. Access points are available. They are set to a power level of 29.5 db tx. (.860 Watts) and a Sector antenna aimed from 265 deg. (South Fresno) to 175 deg. (Porterville/Bakersfield). A second access point is availale from 235 deg.(South Fresno) to 355 deg. North. This second system is using a 120 deg sector antenna at 19 db. The access points are currently providing very fast connections (13 Mbps to 300 Mbps) using a transceiver called a Ubiquiti Rocket M 5. Connections to the access point can be made using the Rocket Dish 30 DB V/H antenna and a Rocket M5 MiMo 2X2 MCS8 type modulation. Connections from several locations within Tulare, Kings and Kern county were made using this portable equipment. We have estimated the connections were made with -73 to -85 dbm signals at both ends. The receiver drop off is at -94 dbm. Please contact us if your are interested in experimenting mountain top to mountain top hops using 5.7 GHz. linking. Eric N6VYT @ ARRL . NET
